The Dominican Republic is whose paradise? Who gets to exist and thrive in the tropical landscape promoted by the toursim industry? Engaging with the Dominican government’s tourism initiatives, decorative motifs for Caribbean/Tropical concepts, I engage with the high femicide rate and gender violence cases in the Dominican Republic through news articles clippings from 2017.

¿La República Dominicana es el paraíso de quién? ¿Quién llega a existir y prosperar en el paisaje tropical promovido por la industria del turismo? Comprometiéndome con las iniciativas turísticas del gobierno dominicano, motivos decorativos para conceptos caribeños/tropicales, me comprometo con la alta tasa de feminicidios y casos de violencia de género en la República Dominicana a través de recortes de artículos periodísticos de 2017.
